About Flippin Good Web Design and Hosting

Humble beginnings

Flippin Good Design started out as Silver Palm Printing in January 1996 in South Africa. Back in those days inkjet printers had just started becoming popular and we saw a gap in the market to make business cards for new business owners within a very short turnaround time. So the business started out with a single HP Deskjet 600 working WAY harder than it was ever designed to do. Poor thing just never gave up and more importantly : it got us started!

As the business gradually grew, it expanded to include screen and litho printing, vinyl and wide format signage and eventually web design and hosting. The company and it's image also morphed to Lizzard Design in order to remain modern and up to date.

Personal Touch

Flippin Good Design, headed by Nolan and Melanie Clark, have through the years concentrated on building a loyal customer base by offering the best quality products at competitive prices, while always adding that extra personal touch sorely lacking in most businesses today.

This personal approach stems from the belief that we are in business because we all want to be, and not because we have to be.

Customer Loyalty

This approach paid off as even our very first customer was still with us and many customers are still very good friends today, despite our immigration to New Zealand in October 2008. You can view our ex-South African site - though sadly neglected now by the new owners - at www.silverlizzard.co.za.

Although we deal with large through to micro businesses, we have always believed in treating each customer the same and putting everybody in the same queue, no matter what size the business we are dealing with. Our logic behind this is simple : every business starts small, but soon that small business will grow large, so if we treat the small business owner the same as the big guns we can grow with them because each business owner knows we will not let him down. For this reason we have always targeted the smaller business owner because in our business sandwich the small business owner is the bread and the larger businesses is the jam and not the other way around. The bread pays the bills, the jam allows you to grow, each are equally important to us and our level of customer loyalty proves we are right.

After moving to New Zealand we felt that a new life also needed a new business name. The only logical choice for us was to take the advice given to us by a long time customer who one day said to us : "You know, you guys should call yourselves Flippin Good, because everything you do for us is flippin good " so Flippin Good Design it is!
